As one of the most coveted opera singers today, Nicole Cabell’s lyric soprano returns to her home company of the Lyric Opera of Chicago this winter. Next month, she will perform in one of her most celebrated roles – that of Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, or The Magic Flute. She also debuted to critical acclaim as Donna Elvira in two performances of Don Giovanni, at the Oper Köln and the Deutsche Oper, both in Berlin.

Cabell has also garnered numerous awards – in 2005, she received the BBC Singer of the World Competition. More recently, her solo album “Soprano” received an Echo Klassik Award in Germany and the Georg Solti Orphée d’Or from the French Académie du Disque Lyrique in 2007, and was also named “Editor’s Choice” by Gramophone.

This winter, she will also be appearing as part of classical music station WFMT’s Day of Music celebration. The event will take place on December 13 at the Chicago Cultural Center as part of the station’s 60th anniversary.
